Aurora hat neue...

...Straps:

Zitat Aurora:

These are our AURORA velcro straps V2. In summer 2009, we started working on a foot retention system for fixed gear bikes and released our classic velcro strap version for track and road pedals.

Since then we thought about a specific platform pedal version too. To find the right materials that will meet our demand was really difficult, but finally we found the right stuff.

Our bottom construction is remarkably strong and super stiff. Also the crank will no be scratched, when the straps are installed correct. The angle of the velcro strap construction allows to easy step in and feel secure while riding hard.

The straps can take a beating and are perfect for commuting, bike polo, fixed gear freestyle and what ever you like to do with them.

They are...
- quick and easy to adjust
- made for platform pedals ( fits most )
- super thick and with a super stiff bottom construction
- designed for a safe and comfortable ride
- 100% handcrafted in germany

Specs:
- made from industrial safety belts
- YKK velcro closure
- super strong buckle. Breaking Load: 1182 kg

Color: all black with subtle AURORA logo detail.

Track:
The purpose built track has been engineered in Germany by Velotrack, the team that built the velodromes for the Atlanta Olympics and the Delhi Commonwealth Games. The Red Bull Mini Drome track will maintain race-worthy dimensions in the smallest possible size to enable a single pursuit. Red Bull Mini Drome will challenge both body and mind as riders will need to navigate themselves around a unique, and technically challenging, course reaching speeds of up to 80 km/h.

A quick guide to velodromes:
There are 3 different designs used when building a velodrome. The UK Red Bull Mini Drome track is being built using the most modern technique of "kloides combined with cirlces". The Red Bull Mini Drome track in New Zealand was built using the "two semicircles" technique, a technique that was used about 20 years ago. Here's a quick description of the different techniques:

1. Two Semicircles
That means that you never come out of the turn and you have to ride the track as a circle. This track demands large amounts of banking on the straights and a lot of steering. If you ride on the lower half you will be depressed to the infield and if you ride on the upper half you will be depressed to the outside.

2. Multiple Circles Per Turn
Here you can create a transition from the turns into the straights. The straights have to be gently inclined to avoid being pressed down if you ride into the turns.

3. Kloides Combined With Circles
This is a track that allows the rider to apply consistent pedal pressure and requires no steering work. For this purpose a minimum radius is required.
